The manufacturing of white metal bearing is undertaken up to the outer diameter of 1500 mm. The bearings manufactured are centrifugally cast in order to ensure that Babbitt white metal is bonded strongly with the steel casing of the bearing. This process of Rebabbitting of white metal also ensures dense formation of babbitt white metal which is free of blow holes, pinholes, and uniform structure. The machining after Rebabbitting procedure is undertaken, maintaining the closed tolerance.

The white metal Babbitt bearings are manufactured either as per the drawings provided by the client or as per the sample of Babbitt bearings.

We pay lot of attention at the time of Rebabbitting of white metal bearings due to accident or normal wear and tear.

The following checks are done at the time of Rebabbitting of white metal bearings.

  • Removal of old Babbitt white metal at controlled temperature is of great importance. This is strictly followed by using various sophisticated temperature sensors.
  • In case the grade of Babbitt white metal is not known, the metallurgical analysis for the composition of Babbitt white metal is done. Normally, we use the same grade of Babbitt material or the higher grade of Babbitt white metal in order to ensure high-quality white metal bearing, which is important for the continuous and satisfactory performance of the equipments.
  • Steel casing of the old white metal bearings is short blasted and is subject to hardness and ultrasound test for crack. We have experienced that due to excessive load or accident white metal bearing casing develops crack, and it is a disaster in case the bearing with cracked steel lining is rebabbitted. The crack detection test on bearings steel lining is undertaken by our experienced technicians. Again, the higher hardness on the steel lining of white metal Babbitt bearing is not desirable. The hard spots are removed in order to ensure strong bonding between the Babbitt white metal and the steel lining.
  • As mentioned above, the babbitting of white metal is done by centrifugal process.
  • Machining of bearings is done on latest CNC equipments in order to ensure maintenance of all critical parameters and tolerances of white metal bearings.
